It doesn't matter whether you are dealing with you personal Facebook account or the computer system of a nuclear power plant hackers are always trying to destroy what you created. Read the following two articles about computer hackers.
Have you or anyone you know ever been the victim of a hacker? What is the difference between a computer virus and a worm? Why do you think people get so much enjoyment out of ruining other people's creations? What are two ways you can protect yourself from hackers?
yes i have seen many of my friends stuff being hacked. A worm like a virus is designed to copy itself from one computer to another but it does so automatically. A virus is a piece of code that attaches itself to a program or file so it can spread from computer to computer. I think that people have fun with it and think its fun to mess-up all of there stuff and they have nothing better to do they are bored. you can Open a pawn account and use it for predictable payments.

I have seen many of my friends' facebook, myspace, msn and etc. pages attacked. A computer virus attacks computer codes, while worms take over the entire systems. People hack into other people's things most liekly because they do not like the person or party and are jealous of what they created and they want to ruin it, they know they cannot design the things they do so they ruin others chances as well. Sometimes it can be put in terms of warfare like this article and the enemy wants to beat them so they destroy the opponents chances.
ReplyDeleteTwo ways to protect yourelf from hackers, is keep everything confidential, do not tell your password to friends or anyone else.
Do not randomly click on advertisements unless you are completely sure of their intentions. Many sites and ads are ways viruses can get onyour computer.
Brianne Ramberg
I have had my computer hacked before. A worm is designed to attack entire systems, whereas a virus is designed to attack a specific code. I think people enjoy ruining other people's creations for a few reasons 1)they're propbably bored 2) it's a challenge 3) it's probably addictive, some poeple may get a thrill out of it and continue to do it. You can get anti-spyware and if you plan on buying items online you can set up an account that has only the amount needed for that transaction.

Yes i have been a victim of a computer hacker. the hacker infultrated my facebook account and made crucial modifications. The difference between a virus and worm is small and insignificant therefore they are often hard to differenciate. i believe people get enjoyment in destroying what people have created because it gives thems a sense of power when they infultrate something people view as safe and inpregnable. Ways to protect yourself from hackers is to invest in anti viral programs and use efficent and secure passwords.
ReplyDeleteYes many of my friends have been hacked on myspace, facebook, twitter and etc. A worm takes over the entire system, and a computer virus attacks the computer code. I dont understand why people get enjoyment out of hacking into people stuff. I just think they have nothing better to do then decide to hack into ones computer. Some may just enojoy the fact that they know how. Two ways you can protect yourself from being hacked are; make sure you log off any account you log on to, and make sure you have a secure password; a long and difficult password.
ReplyDeleteAlot of my friends facebooks, myspace, and msn including mine also have been hacked. Im not sure the exact differences are but i think a worm would be harder to remove and viruss are easier to get onto your computer. Some people are very weird, i don't know why anyone would want to hack other peoples information. other than to put themselves ahead in the game is the only thing i can think of..
ReplyDeleteTwo ways to protect yourself is keep everything confidential...Every 2 or 3 weeks change your password so its harder to get for others to get away on..
Also, try not to click on other advertisements when alot of them are just trying to hurt you.
Yes, I know a few people who feel victim to hackers. A computer virus attacks the computer code while a worm will conquer the whole system. I think some people get anjoyment out of other people's creation because they are jeleous of their success in life and somehow want to see them crumble. Also, they could have nothing better to do. Some ways to protect yourself from hackers is check your credit report often, when purchasing an item off of a website make sure it is a legit website and a safe and secure website, also check your bank and credit card statements often.

A computer virus attacks computer code, and a worm attacks the entire system. No one I know has had their computer hacked...I've had viruses on my computer before.. along with everyone else. People probably enjoy hacking computers because they're bored and want to see what it will do.. or just because they;re weird and like doing it. Keep everything confidential to avoid your computer being hacked and dont click on random emails you get from people you dont know.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that anyone I know has ever been hacked or had their computer infected with a worm or virus. The difference between a worm and a virus is that a worm infects a computer system and a virus infects the computer codes. I don't know how people ENJOY ruining each others lives or destroying people's property. I think it might have something to do with competing with others for power or advancement in society. If one person is creating something great his neighbor will probably get jealous and try to destroy it. People love power and some go to the extreme to gain it.
ReplyDeleteI would install a virus protection program on my computer and keep passwords and information a secret. Don't put personal things on the internet.
I have never been the victim or know of anyone that was the victim of a hacker. The difference between a virus and a worm are viruses get into the programs and then use them to achieve their goals. Worms embeled themselves in the network and then spreads to computers through that. Why they get enjoyment out of it no one really knows. Thats like asking why a serial killer gets enjoyment out of killing people. No one knows except the person doing. Now its messed up how they do it an i totally disagree with this but "shit happens". To be safe about it just avoid any sketch looking sites and programs that say open me an win millions thats all bullshit so just stay away from that and you will be good

I have never been hacked before, but I have seen a couple of my friends be hacked. A virus is code that attaches to any programs/ files in your computer were worms uses the computers to make copies of itself to go from one computer to the next. I feel some people enjoy causing problems for other people. I feel they think its funny to the victim being hacked. Not giving out passwords to your account or leaving them passwords visible for people to steal. By placing an Anti-Spy wear on your computer you may be able to detected problems earlier. This way you can stop the problem before it ruins your computer or account.
ReplyDeleteNo i have never been a victim of hacking, the difference between a worm and a computer virus is that the worm attacks the whole system/and a virus attacks the computer codes some people get bored and would like to see mayhem some are computer terroist and seek ways and means to infiltrate and sabotage. Two ways to be protected from hackers is to keep everything that is business strickly confidential and the second is that there are many sites on the internet that can help protect you from hackers, worms and viruses.Miguel.Sansavour
ReplyDeleteA computer virus attaches itself to a program or file enabling it to spread from one computer to another, leaving infections as it travels, where as a worm is similar to a virus by design and is considered to be a sub-class of a virus. Worms spread from computer to computer, but unlike a virus, it has the capability to travel without any human action. A worm takes advantage of file or information transport features on your system, which is what allows it to travel unaided. Yes i have been hacked before. Good way to stay safe is not to download things you are not sure of and stay away from porn lol.
ReplyDeleteI can’t think of any serious incidents that involved someone I know being hacked, but I don’t doubt that its happed. I suppose every now and then someone’s Facebook is hacked by some bogus advertising agency. Its like when you see posts reading something like “OMG I got a FREE $500 MACYS GIFT CARD CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???? ALL I HAD TO DO WAS CLICK THIS TOTALLY NOT-SUSPICIOUS LINK AND TAKE A SURVEY!!!”
ReplyDeleteEverything is always in caps, not to mention the wording is completely out of character. Stupid.
A computer virus attacks computer code, while worms take over entire systems. I have no idea why people feel the need to do hack things. I guess there’s a political reasoning behind some more serious and large scale hacking, but personal computer corruption, (especially the kind that doesn’t even gain information or valuables from the computer) really annoy me. Do these people have nothing better to do? So you’re stealing credit card information. Classy. So you’re corrupting all of my files while you sit in your mom’s basement eating Fruit Loops at the age of 30. Wonderful.
These people need to go do something constructive with their sad lives.
Ways to protect yourself would be 1) download anti-virus software and 2) be sensible about what you click on. If you see a cheap .gif ad for FREE iPADZ!, maybe don’t click on it. If someone random hottie starts following you on Twitter and shares a nothing but a link – think twice before clicking. Its like the Internet is one giant STD party. Just assume that everything is infected and proceed with caution.
no i have not ever got hacked, but i have had friends who have had accounts online, like PS3 or ebay that has been hacked and spend money, but good thing they caught it and got their money back. Im sure that there are people who's facebook get's hacked, or msn, or whatever they have. i guess people like to have fun making people worry about their account being hacked. two ways to keep your computer is get a very good virus protector and not have the interent save your passwords and credit cards you put on websites
ReplyDeleteI have never been hacked. I'm not sure that any one else I know has been either. I'm usually pretty safe about what I share and what not. A computer virus attacks computer code while worms take over entire systems. I think the reason people get so much enjoyment out of hacking is the sense of power they have when they do it. 2 things that you can do to protect yourself from hackers is not using the same passwords for everything and not using the same security question for everything. Hackers can easily find passwords or a way to get into any accounts that you may have.
ReplyDeleteI have never been hacked nor have any of my friends ever been hacked. "A computer virus attacks computer code, while worms take over entire systems." People find so much enjoyment in hacking and ruining other people technology because its fun to break things. Once way to protect yourself is to not open mysterious emails or click on pop ups. Another way to stay protected is to invest in a powerful anti virus program
ReplyDeleteNo I really can't recall that I have been hacked into at all. A computer virus attacks the computer code while a worm attacks the whole system. I think that people who enjoy ruining other peoples stuff and hacking them are the same kids that would destroy your creations in school, such as a sandcastle or snowman. They do it because they can and have no respect for anyone. You just have to be smart when using computers. If you wouldn't want your mother to see what you were doing on the computer you probably shouldn't be doing it. And be conservative about giving your information out on the computer.
ReplyDeleteI have never been the victim of a hacker. The difference between a worm and a virus is that a worm attacks the whole system while a virus only attacks the codes. Some people could do it for their own enjoyment while others may do it for their benefit. Make sure that you have good virus protection and don't go onto any sites that may give you viruses.
ReplyDeleteI’ve had my MySpace account hacked forever ago, all I did was contact the MySpace staff to get my new password, and then I was back in! I was really lucky it was just MySpace, and not my bank account or anything like that. Then that would be even worse! I think a virus is something that could be spread from one computer to another, where I worm just targets one computer and sticks with it. I think people get so much enjoyment from it because they like to cause people harm for one reason or another. Two ways you can protect yourselves from hackers, is have a difficult to guess password that is memorable to you, and get some sort of anti-virus to keep hackers from accessing your online information.
ReplyDeleteI have never been hacked by anyone on my computer, but I know some people have had their facebooks and emials hacked. A worm copies itself from one computer to another. A virus attaches itslef to a file and goes from one computer to the next. I think some people just maybe get bored and have nothing else to do so they go in and mess with other peoples stuff. Two ways to keep your stuff from getting hacked is keep your things confidential. Don't give out your password to anyone. Another way is to stay away from things that can give you viruses.
ReplyDeleteI have never been hacked, but i do have friends that have been. A virus attacks the computer code and a worm tries to take over the whole system. I think people do it just to show they are capable of doing it and because they don't have anything to do. To protect yourself you should change your passwords often, invest in anti virus and malware protection, and make sure you dont always use tyhe same password so just in case someone gets one they cant get into all your personal stuff.
ReplyDeleteI have never been or know anyone that has been a victim of a virus or worm. A computer virus attacks a computer code while a worm attacks an entire system. I believe that people ruin other peoples creations for two reasons. The first reason is simply people being jealous of others, the second is because people are destructive and if they find a way to destroy somthing, they will in fact do so without mercy. A solid way to prevent this from happening would be to download an anti-virus software, or to stay away from websites that may be easily subjected to infection.
ReplyDeleteHave you or anyone you know ever been the victim of a hacker? [Not that I know of. But my mom is always paranoid about her passwords and numbers for all her important information and such.] What is the difference between a computer virus and a worm? ["A computer virus attacks computer code, while worms take over entire systems." <--What the article says.] Why do you think people get so much enjoyment out of ruining other people's creations? [Well, in my experience, it's because they are unable to create anything themselves. Because they cannot enjoy the hard work of creation, they enjoy the chaos of destruction.] What are two ways you can protect yourself from hackers? [Don't go to sites you don't trust, especially if it looks suspicious. And don't enter any information about your computer or your life on shady-looking web forms. Also, invest in good anti-malware software.]
ReplyDeleteI have never been hacked. The difference between a virus and a worm is a computer virus attacks computer code, while worms take over entire systems. I think people infect computers so to retrieve information that is valuable towards them, also some people just like to make other people's lives miserable. Two ways to prevent hacking is to get an anti-virus on your computer or to be careful where your giving your information too and how much you are giving.
ReplyDeleteI've actually had my MySpace account hacked. They actually terminated my account, and I never made a new one. It made me sooooo upset because I actually loved MySpace back then and always put a lot of effort into my profiles. I also had over 7,000 Friends on there, so I didn't want to start over. I don't know the difference between worms and viruses. I've never been interested or concerned about neither even though computers are really vulnerable to these types of things if they go unprotected. I don't see why anyone would get enjoyment out of destroying someone else's creations. Like unless they actually personally know the person and want to make them upset, why do it? They don't even know the people who's computer they're harming. One way to protect myself is to get some security on my computer and have really complicated passwords that only I know. Also not to download a lot of public files because they can carry a lot of harmful things with them.
ReplyDeleteSometimes when I leave my facebook on around my friends they will update my status and make up complete propaganda about me. However, this is all in good fun. I have not been really hacked which is good. A virus works away and ruins computer code but a worm takes the whole system over. People hack partly for the fact that hackers can make money, the other reason may be a lack of morals. Two things someone can do to avoid hackers is never give out your password, and avoid going to as well as signing up with questionable websites.

ReplyDeleteI have never been hacked and I do not know of any friends who have either. Worms take over the entire system. Viruses attack the computer code. I personally think people hack into others accounts because they think it's funny and because they might not like that person. If the hacker doesn't like the person and gets ahold of their credit card, they will most likely spend all their money.
You can protect yourself by not sharing your password with anyone. Also, you can install a security hole program on your computer. Never duplicate your passwords.
With all the technology I own, I have never been a vicim of a cyber attack. However, my parents have had their identity stolen on a credit card.
ReplyDeleteThe difference between a worm and a virus is that a virus attacks the codes of the computer whereas a worm attacks the whole system. A worm spreads faster and create more damage in less time.
I think people hack and harm other people's property because they consider it a hobby. They are bored and they have nothing else to do. Because they are probably smart with the computer, they enjoy doing it and have learned to perfect like most people do with their hobbies.
Two ways you can protect yourself from hackers are putting a type of protection on your computer such as McAfee or Norton, or not clicking on pop ups that could ultimitely be a virus.
I've never been a major victim of a hacker but my myspace was hacked when I first got one so I just deleted the account and started a new one and I never had another problem. Others I know experienced had a similar experience but no big damage happened.
ReplyDeleteA virus attacks a code while worms attack a whole system. So think Windows Media compared to your whole computer.
People love ruining others creations for many reasons. I believe the most common is that humans are just naturally destructive. Think about history and the advancements we've made. Everything we've discovered and created we use to somehow negativly affect someone/something else. Everything gets turned around to be a weapon. This article illustrated this point quite well.
Two ways to protect yourself is to pay for a good sercurity system on your computer and keep up with the subscription and the updates. Also you can make sure a pop-up for a free laptop or game systems is legit. Don't give your personal information without knowing where it's going and who's going to see it. Don't be a dolly dumb-dumb.
A computer virus is a computer program that can replicate itself and spread from one computer to another, computer worms are malicious software applications designed to spread via computer networks. So basically a virus attacks a computer code and a worm takes over the entire system. I personally have never gotten hacked, but I know people who have been. I have no clue as to why someone would want to hack into someones computer just for the fun of it, I would imagine most people would do it to find information on someone or something they have in their computer. Although i do know some people really do just get the excitement out of hacking into someones computer just to know they can do it, bragging rights. Ways you can try to protect yourself from getting hacked is virus protection systems, have security walls which is kind of similar, have locks on your internet, etc. Or just buy a Mac! Mac's can only get like 3 virus' total where any other computer can get millions.
ReplyDeleteMost people dont know this but there is two different types of hacking ethical and personal hacking all you can do is get a good antivirus and a malware program that willl protect you from the major viruses and worms
ReplyDeleteI personally have never been hacked, however I know my auntie has through an e-mail virus. The difference between between a worm and a virus is a worm attacks the entire system and the virus attacks the computer codes. I think people get enjoyment out of destroying other peoples computers and office systems because they have no life and they feel bad for themselves. I picture a hacker being that creepy 30-40 year old kid in his parents basement. gross. I have always been very cautious with opening e mails and clicking side adds on certain websites but I still have protection on my lap top and our computer at home.
ReplyDeleteI have not been a victim of hacking, but I do know individuals who have ended up with viruses due to downloading ripped dvds or games. The difference between a worm and a virus is, "A computer virus attacks computer code, while worms take over entire systems." I think people derive joy from ruining other's creations because they some how feel it proves them to be superior, especially when it comes computers and technology. Two ways to protect yourself from viruses are being intelligent when surfing the internet by not clicking on "Hot Babez!!!!!!" downloaded "Free Ringtonezzzz" and installing some sort of virus scanning software.
