I have never actually heard of "Cyber Monday" except just recently i have seen on TV about how Walmart is doing the online sales all week. but that would be the first i had heard. I don't think i'll actually take part in the sales this year, but the more i hear about it in upcoming years i will probably change my mind about it and actually try it out. It is actually pretty smart because then you don't have to worry about everyone around you and wondering if what you want is actually in the store. So to me this is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteFor the most part anytime that I get to save money I'm in.
ReplyDeleteI spent a good amount of cash both today and on fridays online sales. Most of the sales today are reruns of what we saw friday, and sadly most retailers are out of stock of items quickly. The online sales i doubt will ever completely replace the black friday mad rush to walmart. Though for the few they have offered another option.
I have not heard of "Cyber Monday" until this year. I have seen on most websites that there will be Black Friday Sales online Monday (today). I didn't take part in either of the Black Fiday opportunities. I have to save my money for college. I'm sure eventually I will start shopping online on Black Friday because then I wont have to deal with the people and everything else to come along with it. I don't think that Cyber shopping on Black Friday will take over the accual going to the store and shopping because they could run out of stock and you will have to wait for it to ship to you
ReplyDeleteI love Cyber Monday. Black Friday is way too chaotic and not worth my time, at least not in Williston. I would never stand by a pallet of Bluray players until midnight, even if it meant saving $100. Before 3 AM this morning I had already received roughly 5 or 6 different emails from retailers advertising Cyber Monday deals...many of which I hope to take advantage of. I think that e-commerce is something we're all very familiar with, and that the effectiveness of Cyber Monday will soon become as prevalent as Black Friday sales. It simply caters to more people - it removes the hassle of traffic and people from the mix. Its the best part of Black Friday without the worst part of Black Friday.
ReplyDeleteI was just introduced to Cyber Monday. The idea of it sounds amazing! There are still amazing sales and you are not having to stand outside and wait for the doors to open at 4 in the am. I think this will definietly create some changes in the retail world. I believe people will like the idea of being able to get some of the same great sales just from home instead of dealing with the crazy people and lines of Black Friday. I haven't participated in Cyber Monday quite yet but just might have to look into all the sales this evening!
ReplyDeleteThe first time I heard of Cyber Monday was this morning I got a few emails from stores about cyber monday deals, but have never heard of it before. I think it might catch on eventually, because people prefer to shop online now then versus the stores. Its interesting that now they have another huge day of shopping. I have not taken part of black friday before but I will in the future, it just was never good timing for me, because fo work and such.
ReplyDeleteYeah i have heard of Cyber monday. It makes the society lazy and it kind of takes out the fun of Black friday because i went into walmart and it was crazy full of people. i think cyber monday and the other crazy sale days are fun i have participated and they are very helpful to save you money..
ReplyDeleteI'm familiar with the term Cyber Monday because I had worked for a large retail company that put a lot of emphasis on this day. Despite that there are great deals on the internet, many people still want to go to the store and pick up something tangible. So, I wouldn't be too worried about the event shutting down any businesses. Also, even though retailers claim that they have the BEST prices on this day, we all know that prices drop significantly before Christmas. And, if you're in the market for a new TV, prices drop even further right before the Super Bowl. What I'm getting at, is that if you want to participate in Cyber Monday, it's best to do your research ahead of time so you are aware of what a "good" price is.
ReplyDeleteI understand why companies push Cyber Monday so hard, it's less shipping cost to them (they don't have to transport it to stores), instead they can charge it directly to the consumer.
I don't take part in the sales, I might if I really wanted something, but I suppose there's nothing really grand on my Christmas list this year.
I have heard of Cyber Monday I actually bought some stuff last year online and I almost forgot about it this year until I read this post. I think its a great way to shop because I dont like going to the stores and waiting in line forever and trying to hurry and get the items before they're gone. I think more and more people will start shopping on Cyber Monday instead of Black Friday...it also allows people to be lazier and shop at home to avoid trying to find a parking space or beat the crowd.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of cyber monday. It was just recently though, either last year or the one before. I think it is going to continue to grow with internet acess being easier to get and people wanting to avoid those long lines on black friday. It saves a lot of time and is just was easier then fighting your way through the crowd to get a good deal.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Cyber Monday and have never taken part in the sales. I heard about the Black Friday sales, that still gone on throughout the week. I online shop a lot now that I have moved to Williston so i dont think the sales really wow me, but they are great! The good thing about it is, that you dont have to stand in long lines for items nor pick them up at the stor, you can just have it shipped to your house. I personally dont have patience to wait in long lines soo i do like the Cyber Monday and sales.
ReplyDeleteI have heard the term Cyber Monday before but only recently. I think that a lot of people will online shop this year and in the future because it is becoming more accessible through laptops and tablets and apps on their phones. I personally didn't partake in Black Friday shopping but went on Saturday and still got great deals. I think that people are going to start just shopping all weekend and Black Friday just starts it. I don't think that the mad rush and fights at stores will slow down because of Cyber Monday though.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have heard about cyber Monday. But, I haven't actually participated into it a whole lot. The more people get aware about cyber monday and the more deals they offer, I'm sure it will pick up more and more. Especially in this economy people are looking for ways to save money for the holidays. I like the idea of cyber monday, because you don't have to leave your house and stand in long lines and deal with the crowd. It's nice to just get up early and order from the comfort of your home. However, I did take part in the Black Friday sales.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have heard of Cyber Monday. I actually do not shop online, but this year I have started to do more shopping online. Cyber Monday gives people easy access to the good deals. I feel Cyber Monday could soon take over Black Friday. Cyber Monday allows people to stay in the comfort of their own homes and not have to wait in line for hours waiting for a certain item. I do not plan on taking part of Cyber Monday, but I feel it would be an easy way to pick up a few Christmas presents.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of "Cyber Monday" and up until lastweek i was introduced to "Black Friday" It's great to go and see all the great deals and bargins, in my opinion it will have a good effect on society, because of shopping for the holidays, but it will also cause a form of laziness in the society but it's a fantastic way of saving money on items. I didn't take part in the "Black Friday" sales but I had a chance to see first hand of what it is and it's really fun there were a lot of consumers in Wallmart just shopping lost of great deals. On my Iphone there were a lot of apps on how to get the best deals online, so you can do it in the comfort of your home or office. In my opinion it's a great boost to the economy, because shopping is a very time consuming activity, thus it will give a great ease to everyday living.
ReplyDeleteI actually have never heard of Cyber Monday until just recently i have seen it all over the web and how stores like walmart and footlocker are giving online sales all week. I would love to take in the sales this year, but the more i hear about it in upcoming years i will probably change my mind about it and forget about it. i like the conventional shopping much more. But none the less i have to admit it is a very good idea.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of Cyber Monday, and I do think it is a good idea for those who wants to avoid the long lines and the hassle of trying to find items in stock. But I think this will led to struggles for stores, especially locally owned businesses when it comes to their Black Friday sales as Cyber Monday becomes more popular, especially with big corporate websites.
ReplyDeleteI had never really heard of Cyber Monday until this year. I think that it will be a lot easier for so many people this year so you don't have to worry about standing in long lines, getting pushed around and all the other craziness that Black Friday usually brings. I also think that it could affect what the stores profits may be as well though. I think that people go absolutely nuts around this time of year trying to get their shopping done. Now that people can be in a relaxed environment maybe people won't stress themselves out as much. I didn't go shopping this Monday but I went shopping Friday. Definetly not the early morning sales though!!
ReplyDeleteCyber Monday sounds like my dream come true! A friend told me about this event late Monday night. She told me that thousands of online shops make their entire store 50% off! When reading the article on Cyber Monday it mentioned that many designers and such have boosted their websites to help them run faster and they now offer gift wrapping and such in time for the holidays, I couldn't help but think thats another great way to increase employment for those individual who are in need of jobs, especially around the holidays. Gift Wrappers and computer techs were probably in high demand this weekend and all throughout this week. I think Cyber monday is a great way to promote companies and such however it scares me sometimes how much technology is running out world. I was out shopping on saturday and the mall was no busier than it normally would have been, which is hard to believe because there was great deals everywhere you looked! Now that I know about cyber monday though, it explains a bit why it may have not been so busy.
ReplyDeleteI think cyber monday is a great concept. In my opinion it is a whole lot more effective and safer than black friday. Every black friday there are multiple deaths and the greedy side of every shines in all of the shoppers. Cyber monday eliminates the physical aspect of Black Friday with all of the same savings. I did participate in cyber monday this year. It was great.
ReplyDeleteSince about 3 years ago, I have participated in Cyber Monday. I think that because Cyber Monday has so many great deals online, people will go shopping on Monday, instead of shopping the entire weekend. I love shopping online because you don’t have to go to a crowded store and wait in-line. Stores are making a lot of money because more people are prone to buy more with the free shipping with a certain amount of purchase amount. However, when you do shop online you miss the interaction with the store workers and shopping online is not a definite buy. You don’t know what you are buying, and you might not buy the right size. The product might not be what you expected and it could take a long time for the product to get there. Otherwise, my Cyber Monday shopping has always been positive and great.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of cyber monday before today but I think it's almost a good idea. Think about the people that die on Black Friday from being trampled and such. Usually I would say that its just one more way people are becoming lazy to the extreme but cyber monday allows people to get the deals they want without the risk of dying over them. I've never gone shopping on Black friday but I would like to once just to see the deals and just experience it but I know a lot of people that shop on Black friday like a religion.
ReplyDeleteThis year was actually the first time that I have heard of Cyber Monday. I think that this is an awesome day to have. Personally I love online shopping and it makes shopping convenient especially because we do not have a mall in town. I think that this has an affect on the way we communicate because with this way of shopping no communication is needed. I believe that our society has a lack of communication and technology is not helping the issue any. Although communication is kind of dying off because of this it also helps to save gas and costs less for those who do utilize the internet. I think that Cyber Monday is an awesome idea and I did take part in some of the online black Friday deals. I think it is way easier than having to fight the people at the mall or stores.
ReplyDeleteI actually just saw a commercial on cyber week the other day. I had never heard of it until then. I think that cyber monday has both pros and cons. The good thing would be that people who are unable to leave their homes can quickly and efficiently get online to get what they want quickly. But really it just can make people lazy too. It also increases the chances of identity theft and other viruses.
ReplyDeleteI like cyber monday much better than black friday. although i like getting out and seeing people and getting to actually checkout the object i'm buying, i dont like the long lines and the dumbass people. The deals on both black friday and cyber monday are really good i think cyber mondays a little bit easier because your sitting at home in your sweats clicking your mouse. i personally like to do both and get good deals on all my christmas gifts.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard the term Cyber Monday until recently. I think that this is a good way for stores to promote their stuff. Having people shop online is a good thing to do. I think that in the future Black Friday could possibly end up online also, instead of everyone going out and getting stuff. You can just have it shipped to you. I did not take part in any black friday or cyber monday shopping.
ReplyDeleteI think Cyber Monday makes things a lot more convenient for people and reduces stress in people who avoid the long lines of Black Friday. In the past few months, I have become an avid online shopper. I think online shopping and Cyber Monday are both great concepts, which allow people to engage a lot more effective shopping. Also I believe it would be a lot safer
ReplyDeleteI have definitly heard of cyber monday but have used it only for the past couple of years. This year I am using online shopping more than ever because of the location that I am in. It is very easy and convenient as you don't have to leave your home to wait in line for hours and waste your whole day shopping. I think it is going to be a day that I will mark on my calendar from now on simply because of the huge savings you get and the convenience.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard the term cyber monday before but I like it! I love buying stuff online. I don't really like shopping malls. It just feels like such a rat race in there! I think online shopping is a good idea but at the same time I feel you can find better deals in a mall. Sometimes you can haggle a little bit. But is it worth it? Not for me, I can't deal with the crowds.
ReplyDeleteI only participate in Black Friday and Cyber Monday if there is something I have been wanting for a long time on sale. And then I usually order online, anyway. Nothing, to me, is worth the chaos of Black Friday lines. Cyber Monday is an easy way to circumvent that. However, it also gives people an opportunity to purchase things that they normally wouldn't. I mean people are already buying things they don't really need or want just because the sales are on, but at least there is some deterrent when you head to the store to shop: people. Not only do you have to race and fight for the objects, but you have to wait in line to purchase it. You start thinking to yourself "Is it really worth it just to buy this [insert item here]?" But online shopping's only drawback is waiting for your item to come in the mail or carrier service. However, it's easier to justify "Order with One-Click" (Amazon.com) than it is to stand in line for hours!
ReplyDeleteEventually the Black Friday sales will not be electronic based. The electronics will all be on cyber Monday sales. I really like the idea of the online sales since I don't have to wait in line to find out if I can purchase something. It only takes a matter of minutes to find out whether or not you can purchase the items you want. I have never taken part in any of the online sales since I really don't need any thing. I have a bad habit of impulse buying, I buy things when I want them rather than shopping around and waiting a few days to get a better deal.
ReplyDeleteI've actually never heard of CyberMonday, but it sounds pretty cool. I don't really like shopping online for electronics because I don't ever know how good or big they really are yaknow? But yeahhhh it seems like it could be a really big thing if more people start to know about it. I've never heard anybody talk about it before, so that's probably why only 39% of people said they'd be participating in it. The world is getting so lazy now. We just wanna sit on our couches to shop now. Haaaa! It's like a tradition to go out on black friday to shop in my family. IDK if CyberMonday can take its place.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this except on black friday when i was looking online and i saw this advertisement for shopping on "cyber monday" then i got curious and decided to go and check this out on monday. I think this will have a positive affect on people because with the weather getting bad and the accidents on friday they will just order online instead of fighting at the store site.
ReplyDeleteI learned about Cyber Monday a couple years ago and i feel its a great thing. Just being able to avoid the crowd at malls on a black Friday and sit back at home and get what you need is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI have heard the term Cyber Monday before but i only recently heard about it. I think that a lot of people will shop online this year and in the future because it is becoming more accessible through laptops and apps on their phones. I didn't partake in Black Friday shopping. I think that people are going to start just shopping all weekend and Black Friday just starts it. I don't think that the fights at stores will slow down because of Cyber Monday.

I first heard of Cyber Monday a few years ago. I have not yet participated in it, but plan to next year.
ReplyDeleteWell it is possible that people who have previously participated in Black Friday before might decide to skip out on all that and just shop online during Cyber Monday. Which could possibly cut back on some of the fighting over items problem that Black Friday has been the cause of.
I think Black Friday and Cyber Monday are great times for the less fortunate to get out and get some luxuries. I also believe, for those who can afford the nicer things in life, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are a waste of time and energy. Because to get these awesome deals it takes time to find the deals and a long time of waiting in line to get your products.
I did not take part in Cyber Monday. I searched around but was to late. Everything was already sold out. I did however partake in Black Friday. It was a horrible experience. In the end I was happy I did it tho.
I heard of Cyber Monday last year and I think it would be worth it because I don't like big crowds, and I don't mind shopping online so I could definitely seed myself taking part in Cyber Monday when I'm not a broke college student!
ReplyDeleteI think the whole Black Friday/Cyber Monday will have a positive effect on our society because it will have a good effect on our economy by boosting spending.
