Review the following slide show. Make sure you read about all 25 people! What are at least three trends you notice from one millionaire to another? What business idea interests you the most? Why? If someone came up to you and offered you a million dollars to tell them your best entrepreneur idea what would your idea be?
They all were determined to make their item, all were young, and all started working when they were young. Facebook interests me the most. It gives me a place to play some games, talk to friends, see what my friends are doing, and see some news articles that I would have not seen on the internet anywhere else if I looked. My best idea to become a millionaire would be a website that you can buy songs for only .10 a song. The reason for this is because most people now a days find a website because each song that they want to buy costs $1.69 at least. So people are not wanting to spend so much money for one song.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like most of these millionaires say that the key to success is to find something you love to do and do it. I obviously like the idea of Facebook, but Dell's idea to cut out the middle man was very smart. Facebook has forever changed how people communicate and how quickly they can connect to friends and family. Dell's idea to cut out the middle man allowed them to offer lower prices to the consumer.
ReplyDeleteI don't have the next brilliant idea/invention, but if someone offered me a million dollars I'd open my own bakery.
-Hollie Riggins
Million dollar questions:
ReplyDeleteThe most interesting idea out of all of the subjects of the slide show, is of course "facebook". Facebook has "Brought" The world together. It has changed how a generation interacts with one another and how we think about being social.
Ten years ago anyone who said they had 500 friends online was still on the edge of being a "geek" Yet anyone who is anyone is more then likely to have more then a 1000 friends on facebook. We have started to measure social standing in totally different terms.
Also the real genius of facebook is the advertising. Well still for hte most part keeping the site clean, they are able to penetrate there advertising past outward sense that normally would block out these ads.
They way they run the ads, and the placement makes or breaks it. Facebook has hit that perfect line and as we have seen profits from it.
Three trends you will easily notice from young millionaire to millionaire:
First, always go for it, don't let age or others stop you.
Second: Keep trying never give up, always develop and try new things, always grow and change.
Third: You do whatever you have to do, to make it. Dont let anyone or anything get in yours way ever. This is your life you want to be a success its up to you.
What is my million dollar idea?
Well if I plan to make a million dollars I don't suppose that I should tell you.
Social medium is a wide reaching endless possibility for money making. Though I wont get specific, apps are where the money is at today.
Three things they talked about were to start early, work hard and always go for dont let anyone tell you, you cant do it. The Year book because I've never heard of it and it seems pretty cool plus it was a brother and sister that put it together and so that is pretty cool to see. My idea for entrepeneurship is to start my own hunting outfitting bussiness with my buddy in Colorado we have had this idea for the longest time and we seem to be putting the pieces together on how to make it work so who knows maybe soon as i get out of college we will have finished it up because we are very close.
ReplyDelete-Kyler Eubank
1. All made alot of money in the teens. 2. Most of them on the inter-net. 3. All when out and just did it. Jermaine Griggs and his online piano, and other teaching lessens. Zeitgeist!!!(dont know what it is look it up it will change u)
ReplyDeleteBetween all of these it seems like all of them started something small with no idea of how large it could be. Sometimes its all timing, it's so crazy that young people can be so successful from creating a website. Facebook is probably the one that catches my attention the most. It pretty amazing that someone can create a social networking site and become a multimillionaire. It's such a simple concept and to make it free of charge to the users and still make money off of the advertisers. I am not sure what kind of idea I would have. I would probably add another eBay type of site, maybe one where people could sell their stuff and have the proceeds donated to their favorite charities. It could mean a world of difference for some.
ReplyDeleteAll people in thses slides show were determined, young, and also not afraid to make the next new thing. Facbook interests me the most, because there are so many sites just like this but the creator made his a little different allowing it to take the lead, and become the most popular one. If someone asked for advice for their entepreneur idea, I would have to tell them to follow their dreams and interests, and to not be afriad to fail, because that can help them succeed with their next idea. Thomas Edison said that "He did not fail, but found 10,000 ways it won't work." Sometimes you need to fail in order to succeed. Learn from your mistakes and use them to your advantage.
ReplyDeleteThe trends i have noticed is that it is all online stuff, either its a website or the computer itself. I like the facebook business the most because thats what i use the most out of all of those successful businesses. I have absolutely no idea what my million dollar idea would be.
ReplyDeleteThey almost all said to start something that is of value to others, not to do it for the money. Also, they were all very young when they started their business, and they were either in college getting a degree in something other than what business they started or still in high school. The business idea that interests me most is Facebook. It's crazy how he started Facebook out of his dorm room in 2004 and he is already a billionaire at age 26. I have absolutely no idea what I would tell that person...I'm not creative enough to come up with a new trend or idea?
ReplyDeleteConcerning three trends:
ReplyDelete1. Many of the entrepreneurs gave advice along the lines of "Put yourself out there. Get started, do something.." Ambition and drive seemed to be synonymous among them.
2. Many of the millionaires gained their fortune through the internet. It seems so commonplace.
3. The ability to have provided a solution for society. You think, "I'm on the internet everyday, using websites someone younger than me created. Not to mention, they're making bank."
If I even had an idea worth 1 million dollars, I wouldn't be sharing it on a public forum, but I think it would have something to do with the print industry. Print media is dying, and the internet is not just the killer, its the answer. Digital magazine subscriptions and books are already available, but maybe a single (or at least dominant), streamlined, uniform, synchronized marketplace where these things would be available?
A lot of the trends they all had were that they were young, dedicated about their idea, and just went with it to make it a success. Another this is it didn't take any of them very long from the time they started to where they are now, to make their first million. The one that interest me the most was Dell, how he sold direct and by doing that allowed the customers to get lower prices when purchasing a computer. Not to sure on what my idea would be, I would have to think on that one for awhile.

One trend I noticed was that they all started doing things when they were younger. Yes they were all millionaires at young ages but most of them were all starting idea at ages around ten years old. Another would be that they all made their millions on the internet. They also all had good advice about being active and understanding the market. The hear and play music one interests me the most beacause I would love to learn to play music. My idea would be some sort of work out plan from my previous experiences.
ReplyDeleteThree trends that i have noticed from one millionare to another are; they all started small, all started when they were young, and the key to success is to find something you love to do. What business idea amazed me the most was the Facebook creator. There are so many online social networks such as myspace, but Faceboook took the lead. Its crazy how someone in college soo young make a social network one day and it becomes big.
ReplyDeleteIf someone came to me and offered me a million dollars to come up with an idea, i would create a website where people can download music with no cost. There was limewire, and limewire was very popular. You could find new music that no one ever herard before to old songs and radio songs that some have heard. I would come up with that idea because many people this decade love music, there are times where they can not find the song they want to find, like me, so it would be a good entrepreunuer idea.
I fell that they are all saying is that you have to take something you like to do and it comes out to be a million $ idea. Like facebook it is a new we people talk to each other. If some one asked me for advice for entrepreneur ideas i would tell them they have to find their own little thing they enjoy doing and put that in their own dream.

Three trends that carried over from one millionaire to the other was that they were all really young when the first started their business. Another trend was that they all were determined to reach their goals. The last trend that all the millionaire's had in common was that they all did their business over the internet.I found the Hear and Play Music group interesting because i have never heard of getting lessons over the internet to learn how to play an instrument. I think that is really cool because it is easy access and you are able to do it when you have time. I would open a place for scrap-booking, because there are not may places that you can go to were they will scrap book that page for you. By opening this business I feel this could save people time and everybody will have the memories saved.
ReplyDeleteThe three trends that I noticed were they are passionate about something not in it for the money. A lot of them were on the internet. And they did it to help others. I didn't find any of their ideas interesting. If someone handed me a million dollars for my cool business idea they would be disappointed because I don't have one, but it would probably involve sports somehow.
ReplyDeleteSome of the billionares have an education, where as some did not finished or came up with the idea in school, garage and dormroom but i did not saw in their portfolio is the risk that they have taken to achieve the dream. The business idea i think is great is the Hauser and Taghaddos project the "Grasshopper",where they have developed a virtual phone for mobile entrepreneurs, which take alot of load of the seller and more focus on the product. If someone offered me 1 million dollars for my best idea,it would be virtual reality games although it already has such a demo i believe that it would be a great idea.........Miguel.R.Sansavour
ReplyDeleteI see that most of these Millionaires have started off as pretty smart individuals and than as they were furthering their education they have started their initial idea from college. Starting young seems to be the way to do it. Also finding something that your really interested in.
ReplyDeleteIf I had an Idea worth a million dollars it would have to deal with different types of ways to do normal computer functions from your iDevice, iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Different types of apps and ways around doing different types of things. It really is amazing all the things you can actually do with your smartphones. I'm talking about the things that the general public doesn't really know about. I would like to make those types of things more commonly known.
I noticed nearly all of these people took advantage of the internet, targeted big industries such as music or social networking, and did more than just sit around at their houses dreaming. If I got any message out of this it was to get out and do something with your ideas. The social networking stuff is interesting after seeing the movie about Zuckerberg. If someone offered me a million dollars for my best idea, I would DEFINITELY tell them because there is a good chance my idea is not that great.
ReplyDeleteMost people in the slide show have created internet websites, social networking, and some kind of software. Internet wouldnt have been created if people like micael dell didnt help make software for computers. The one that most interests me is the facebook one. I love facebook, I can play games, connect with friends, see when birthdays are, it has a contact list, I can see pictures and chat it has all kinds of fun things that I look for in a social network site. If someone offered me a million dollars for my best idea I would be stupid not to give it a shot and see what they think of that idea.

ReplyDeleteI noticed that all these people started thinking of ideas and becoming millionaires at a young age. They were all very determined to achieve their goals. Also, they used the internet to help with their success. I like the facebook one the most. I use facebook everyday. It is so addicting. Almost everyone around the world has a facebook account.I also found the Hear and Play Music Group very interesting. If someone came up to me and offered me a million dollars, I would either start my own line of clothing and shoes or own a record company.
I notice that everything has to technology, mostly computers. Obviously all these people are very intelligent people. They are all young intelligent individuals with motivation, dreams, and the drive to achieve them!
ReplyDeleteNaturally as a college student facebook seems the most interesting to me. I use facebook and it seems simple, but the process of setting it up must have been complicated. If someone was to ask me for an idea worth a million dollars it would prob have to be apps that have to do with the iPhone.
Three things that they have in common is that they all were rich before 30, they all had something to do with the internet or technology, and they all gave advice to just go out and do it and not wait or think that our ideas will fail. Facebook & Dell are the ones that interest me the most because I'm most familiar with them. They're very good and successful business ideas. If someone offered me a million dollars for best idea, I would probably start a virtual video game. Or a time machine where you could see what would have happened in the past if you made a different decision. (But it wouldn't change the present). My idea would make billions ;)
ReplyDeleteBecoming a millionaire is almost everyone's dream. All of these young entrepeurs all have many things in common. For one thing, they were all young when they created their products or products. They were also very determined and creative when creating and coming up with their finished item. They created objects and ideas that were new and perfected them so they could be used by everyone all around the world. Another common trait is that they never had a lot of money to begin with. Most of them started out with just a idea and then it started to grow into an empire. Most of their advice included that you don't have to have a lot of money when you start out as a business owner.
ReplyDeleteThe site I find most interesting is the one where you can get lessons for a piano, guitar, and drums. I think that he was thinking outside of the box when he came up with the idea and it is useful when you want to learn a musical instrument.
If I were to be given a million dollars, I would probably tell him about my idea of starting a perfume, lotion, and makeup line because I love all of these products and would love to create my own.
I noticed a couple of trends from one millionaire to the other. One big one I’ve noticed about them all is that they all invented or founded some site or thing that had to do with technology. Whether it is websites or a popular brand of computer, they all had to do with technology of some sort. Another thing I’ve noticed was that they were all young, which of course is the point of the slideshow, but nonetheless a lot of those sites are very popular, and to be invented by someone around my own age is crazy! And finally, the last thing I noticed was that the most of them were in college when they made their millions. The idea that interested me the most was of course Facebook, because that’s a huge thing that happened to the world, and gave people the ability to keep in contact with friends from a long time ago, and if it wasn’t for Facebook, people wouldn’t really know a lot of today’s news to be honest. And I’m not going to say my idea on here, because then people could steal my idea and my million dollars!!!
ReplyDeleteEach entrepreneur used every source available to start their idea. Also, they started small and worked their way towards something huge. I like the idea of Facebook just because I think it is a great social networking site and I use it frequently. I thought that Brindak had the best advice by saying that you need a solid support system and not to listen to anyone that doesn't believe in you. If I had a million dollar entrepreneurial idea, I probably would be working on it right now and wouldn't be sharing it with too many people. I only wish I had an idea worth that much.
ReplyDeleteThey started relatively young, their businesses are technology related, and they all seem to love what they do. I am most interested in the online music learning program. I am interested in the music one because music is interesting to me. If offered 1 mil for an idea I would have to say my idea to build a device that makes a person travel from one location to another instantaneously. Call it peletortation or something.
ReplyDeleteMost of the millionaires listed all stated that they started early, and they all focused on things that brought them interest. Most of them stressed getting an education but it wasn't make or break for them. Something in helping develop young athletes so that they aren't blind to the expectations for higher levels of their sport. I would create some type of machine that you can do numerous drills for basketball players, such as dribbling drills, shooting drills, defensive, and quickness drills.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that i noticed that all of these people started taking an interest in the internet at a very young age. Each of them came up with their own ideas to help people through websites, and used industries to fund there companies. The idea that interested me the most is Facebook, and how it changed how and why people use the internet. If someone gave me a million dollars to come up with an idea i would probably go with a cheap product that i could sell for a significant price.
ReplyDeleteIn all cases of these young millionaires 3 trends are evident. These people are all very driven, put in a great deal of effort, and were not afraid of failure. Michael Dells' business interested me the most. He won over his customers hearts by lowering his prices more than his competitors. If someone offered me a milli in exchange for my best entrepreneur idea I would decline because my idea is worth more than that. I'm not going to tell you my idea because I don't want anybody in class to steal it.
ReplyDeleteMost of the people that have started these industries are pretty smart. All of these ideas that these millionares have come up with are online. I like the Facebook one the most. I use Facebook all the time. Facebook is a great way to keep in contact with friends and family that you don't live close to. I have no idea what my million dollar idea would be.
ReplyDeleteWhile looking at the slides I noticed that the majority of the individuals started out while they were either in high school or just starting college. The ideas that catch my eye the most are the website designers because I think that in todays world that is what is going to advance and become well known to everyone, not to mention you will be rolling in the dough!
ReplyDeleteIf I was one day offered 1 million dollars, I would tell them I want to make a recycling machine so that places like "Williston" A.K.A poop town :)
The similarities between these people all included determination, perserverence, and belief in themselves and their product. One also said that if you don't have supporting people around you, encouraging you to promote your product, get rid of them. I also noticed that all of them were doing what they really loved to do.
ReplyDeleteThe business idea I found most interesting was Dell. Not only did he sell direct instead of in an electronics store, his computers were at a cheaper price than the glitzy ones in stores. This move won over many customers and obviously helped his company evolve into what it is today.
If someone gave me a million dollars, I would design a hockey stick that lasted twice as long as the ones made today, without sacrificing any of the components of a top-of-the-line stick. Today, an average hockey stick lasts no longer than 30 days depending on the type of player you are. If I could increase the life of a hockey stick by another 30 days, there would be no doubt that I would win over a few hearts.
It seems that almost all of the people I read about had some sort of start out on the internet. Most of them had started with a website and it expanded from there. Probably because the internet reaches more people than almost any other media out there. Also they started very young, many before they we're even teenagers. It seems as thought all of them also did/are doing what they enjoy. It was in all of their advise, follow what you love.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I use from the people I read is facebook. A majority of the others I'd never used or even heard of. Out of all the ideas I think the hear and play music group sounded the most interesting and something I would most likely use.
I don't really think business so I'm not sure what I would say to the last question. Probably something about art. Perhaps an interactive simple lesson in art or an interactive art gallery. Like I said, I don't have a business mindset.
Most of these millionaries started young and said dont do it for the money, do it because its something you love. Its crazy to think some of these people started or already were a millionarie before graduating high school, even still in college. I definitely think facebook was the best idea, its a great way to communicate with your friends, keep in touch with people who dont see often, play games, etc. The fact that Zuckerberg was just sitting in his dorm and the idea sprang upon him is impressive, but more that he found a way to create an image and make it happen. Facebook is addicting! I cant go a day without checking it, i have it on my phone so more then likely im on it often. Facebook was a ruboff of myspace in my opinion, but it has all of the same stuff to ofter and more. I think the reason facebook is so successful is because its free, if facebook cost anything, it wouldnt get the rating or attention it gets now. Now if i could be a millionaire off of something along the line with these people, i would probably go with something that has to do with music like Griggs. Theres sites that you can get music for free, but most of the time its not the best quality or its illegal. Now theres always itunes, but lets be real, who wants to pay $1.69 a song? I would try coming up with a site more down the line as youtube, where people can upload songs of videos but be able to download them right to a music program without a problem.
ReplyDeleteI noticed all the millionares used something they were passionate to make money. They all brought something new to the table. My neat idea would be hockey tape that you only need to apply to your stick once.
ReplyDelete[What are at least three trends you notice from one millionaire to another?] All of these people excelled by utilizing technology, none of these people were formally educated about what business is and what it means (let alone business ethics), each of them is able to recognize problems and provide solutions. [What business idea interests you the most? Why?] I liked the Hear and Play Music education website idea. Music truly is a language of its own that everyone speaks. Being able to create and express yourself and your passions without words provides kids with more opportunities to believe in themselves. Also, the article stated that physical institutions of instruction were planned for the future. Tangibility is of the highest value to me. [If someone came up to you and offered you a million dollars to tell them your best entrepreneur idea what would your idea be?] If I had an entrepreneurship idea that I was passionate about, I wouldn't share it with anyone who could afford to give me $1 million for it! That means they have the ability to steal my idea for themselves! However, I would definitely take $1 million to help someone start their own business. (I'm headed into entrepreneurship business as a major so I think about these things quite often.)
ReplyDeleteA few trends I noticed about these individuals were their use of the internet, their passion, they were not afraid of failing, and they were not focused on a million dollar idea. I believe they were all set on being successful, but did not imagine profits and net worths in the millions. A few of them started multiple businesses and not all of their ventures seemed to be successful, but they were able to rebound from failure. The most pertinent point of success in my opinion was their use of the internet because it opens their market to millions of clients instead of just those living near their business. The use of the internet also allows them to connect users from across the globe via Facebook or Myyearbook, or even teach them using online lessons. I enjoyed the ingenuity of the online music lessons because it allows someone to learn at their own pace, as well as practice in their own home. As repetitive as it is to say, I wouldn't divulge my million dollar idea online because someone else may beat me to the punch.
ReplyDeleteThe trend I see in all of the millionaires is that they took something they loved and were intersted in and turned it into a corporation. They all started with an idea. Facebook would have to be my fav. beacuse it was origanlly made for college life. THe whole idea was putting the college social life online, its what drives college life like the status , dating or single determines where your gonna sit who you talk to, who you give the stink eye to in history. About me now a days you dont have to talk to someone to find out what hobbies they are into or just who they are in general you can read a short (usually) paragraph discribing them and what they are like and the things they are inerested in. Pretty cool if you ask me:) If someone offered me a millond dollars for a biz idea I wouldnt tell anyone my idea because I would want more than 1 millond dollars beacuse there is a chance my buisness is worth more than 1 millond in future.
ReplyDelete
